Goleta Lions “Baker” Bowling Tournament

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic The Baker Bowling Tournament has been cancelled.  The event will return when its safe to do so.  The Goleta Lions Club wish to thank all the past bowlers, teams and sponsors for their years of great support for this event.

The Goleta Lions Club conducts our yearly “Baker” Bowling Tournament to raise money in order to support over 29 separate Goleta & Santa Barbara non-profit organizations on an annual basis. We are an organization with a steady vision, a clear mission, and a long – and proud – history of support for our community.

Your team will bowl from 5pm to 7pm (approximately 10-12 games) The team’s best three games will be totaled. The total will be your score versus all the other teams in your division. All scoring will be “scratch.”

Who?

A Team of Five employees, friends, or spouses from your business or corporation. It could also be any five people interested in helping the Goleta Lions support our community.

When?

Saturday, May 18, 2018 from 5pm until 7pm

What?

A Baker Bowling Tournament consists of a 5 Person Team that bowls games where each team member bowls certain frames. Your team will bowl from 5pm until 7pm (approx. 10-12 games). The teams’ best 3 game scores will be totaled. This total will be your score versus all other teams in your division. All scoring will be “scratch”.

Prizes?

Prizes will be awarded for·the first place team (Best 3 game scores). There will also be numerous prize drawings while you are bowling. Each participant will receive 5 tickets for the drawings when they first arrive and check in.

How Much?

A tax deductible donation of $300 per team will help support Lions Sight and Hearing programs as well as Local Youth Programs in the community. Individual bowlers may register for $60 per bowler.

 

Tournament Rules All Scoring for Tournament is Scratch

  1. Introduction of bowlers and “Throwing the first Ball” will begin at 5pm sharp.
  2. Immediately following 5 minutes of practice bowling will begin.
  3. All teams must begin bowling on assigned lanes
  4. Teams MUST bowl in order as listed on sign up form. If substitution of a player is necessary please notify the Goleta Lions Club lane monitors.
  5. If someone is late you will receive a “0” for each frame they miss.
  6. Your team will bowl eight to ten games during the competition. Competition ends at 7pm sharp and bowling will stop at that time. If you have not completed your last game, the scores will not count in your final tally.
  7. Your teams “Best Three Games” out of your total games completed will be used as your competition scores against all other teams in your division.
  8. Prizes will be awarded for First and Last Place
